Carson's Cove does custom casting and design for jewelry companies and independent designers. We recommend this route for designers who are looking to set themselves apart with pieces unique to their brand, and for designers who are producing and selling multiples of the same design.
There are many facets of jewelry manufacturing, from the metal used to exactly how it will be made and in which facilities. Carson’s Cove will work with you to determine the best route for your vision.
If you are looking for a charm or pendant similar to those carried in Carson’s Cove, here is a little about the pewter casting process, which is just once process used to manufacture jewelry:
Pewter casting begins with a model—the original piece. If you already have a model, you can provide it to us. If not, we’ll work with you to design and create one. (Hannah uses everything from conversations and photos to sketches to bring your vision to life and ensure you get the exact piece you need.)
Once the model is made, it is then molded. Molten pewter is poured into the mold, and multiples of your piece are produced. From there, your custom pieces head to our plating facilities.
Custom casting is an investment for your brand. We are required to produce in bulk.
Here are the basics:
-Each custom piece requires its own pewter mold: $125 (Our cost to have the mold made.)
-Minimum order of 50 pieces the first order, and 25 for reorders.
-The pieces can be plated any of the colors carried in Carson's Cove, and you can split your order into different colors.
-Price per piece is determined by weight, as well as how many will fit into one mold. Custom piece pricing is generally just a little lower than a similar piece in Carson's Cove, but please note: Discounts do not apply to custom pieces. Carson's Cove makes money from selling thousands of an item over time. Supplying custom pieces to various customers requires a different workload.
-If we design the model for you, design fees will be based on the specifics of each piece and the time it takes to create the model.
-Once the model is complete, please expect 4-5 weeks for your piece to be cast and plated.
Custom design is ideal for designers who want to set their brand apart with pieces that are uniquely their own.
